Bockhanger deserves better than a pile of rubble

I, along with a number of others including Alan Dean, have been pounding the streets of Bockhanger and Bybrook for months leafleting to collect signatures for the Bockhanger Community Centre petition.
Since I started the petition back in December we have managed to deliver a petition flyer by hand to almost every house, flat, and residence in both Bockhanger and Bybrook wards, many twice over. Especially in January, almost the sole focus of my time was to the petition, to the exclusion of running my own business.
In terms of this petition campaign, we have almost certainly reached over 4,000 people who will have either seen a petition flyer or be aware of our campaign to get Ashford Borough Council to Give Bockhanger a New Community Centre.
It is still vitally important that as many people as possible sign the petition as we are now well on our way in our climb towards our target of 1,500 signatures (online + paper signatures are approaching two-thirds of the target).
It is very important that we honour the wishes of the large number of people who have already signed the petition by securing the debate in full council that the target of 1,500 signatures will guarantee, and by making sure once we have achieved this that the council actually give a cast-iron commitment (with no wriggle-room and no chance to kick the can down the road) to building a new high-quality community centre, including a community cafe, and with the library back in the new community centre building where it belongs.
If you live locally you will see me, Alan Dean, and others continuing to collect signatures over the coming days, weeks, and months to support this petition until we get a cast-iron commitment from ABC to building a new Bockhanger community centre for the people of Bockhanger and Bybrook. What the people of Bockhanger and Bybrook have at the moment is a pile of rubble; what they need and deserve is a new community centre.
If you just do one thing today to support us please spread the word, tell your friends: email, Tweet, Facebook post, or WhatsApp about our petition.
Thank you.
