Powering Through the Hate

Good afternoon to all! I am sending this update as a thank you to all those who have signed in support of not only pursuing the ending of this pipeline in the state of Arkansas, but for the spreading of awareness and education of pipelines in general! The more we speak out against the ill-regulated fossil fuel companies, the better chance we have at changing our surrounding environment, and eventually, the attitudes of others. Thank you for your continued support, and please continue to share and educate those close to you and in your own community. I feel it is important to address something involving this pipeline. We are now approaching a delicate time in where the construction of this pipeline is to begin. This petition in itself, which sends an email to each one of the listed leaders when someone signs, is gaining support greatly and quickly. Through the gained support are also the gaining of "haters". These haters call names, throw rebuttals, and deny the need for revitalization in the energy sector. I would like to make one thing clear to those who have signed this petition and the haters who are against it: change WILL come. Maybe not today, tomorrow, or even next year. But, change in all environmental aspects is underway. It is not change that is there to put you, your son, or your daughter out of a job. It is not change that is meant to stand peacefully on the sidelines. It is not change that is meant to rid the world of fossil fuels. We, as a nation and a globe, rely to heavily on the fossil fuel sector. This is change to let our leaders know that we will no longer stand idly by while large oil corporations tell us as farmers, community members, fishers, children, and rangers, to "deal" with the threat of pipelines that have a long line of previous ruptures (through the lacking of safety protocols by a company). This is change to stand up for our health and well being. This is change to ensure that we are the leaders for a new 'America', one that is in line the rest of the world in finding and implementing alternative energy sources. If Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado can implement wind energy as a main source of power for their people, so can we. This is change that will show our leaders that WE want change; we elect them to make these votes, and it is time they listened. We need to educate the public knowledgeably on these pipelines. Do your research. Contact our legislators. Tell them what we want. Be involved. Be the CHANGE you wish to see in the WORLD. On December 10th, a rally and march will be held at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas to raise awareness and bring attention to the fight against this pipeline. If you are local, PLEASE plan to attend. It will be from 12Pm to 3Pm, and another sign rally will be held that night outside Bud Walton Arena at 6 PM. If you are not local, please be in prayer for peace, awareness, and success.
