THE TIME IS NOW - WE NEED YOU!
We wanted to send a reminder CALL TO ACTION for the hearing with the CA legislature happening NEXT MONDAY (12/8/2025) at Stanford. This hearing will be centered around AB-412 (the AI Copyright Transparency Act) which requires transparency for AI model datasets, is going to be held in the heart of Silicon Valley on 12/8/2025 - WE NEED YOU TO SHOW UP !!!
Because we ended up with such a broad and diverse coalition supporting our bill to protect artists and creators, we get a special legislative hearing on the matter. This is an ALL-HANDS-ON-DECK MOMENT !!! Big Tech has decided to make AB-412 their #1 target ! They know what’s at stake with our bill !!!
This hearing is going to be held in the heart of Silicon Valley. We want as large of a turnout there for the creative industries as we can get. AI models have been built upon a foundation of mass copyright theft. Billions of copyrighted works were taken without anyone’s consent, credit or compensation. Transparency for AI models not only affects us all, but it is essential. If we show up en masse for one another, even while this hearing being conducted is right there in Big Tech's back yard, the need for this bill will be undeniable. We have three asks:
1) SHOW UP TO THE (12/8/25) STANFORD HEARING:

We are asking for supporters of the bill to go to the hearing. EVERYTHING for this bill, and for transparency for AI model datasets, rides on what happens and on who shows up to this hearing. WE NEED YOU! This very important hearing will be held IN PERSON!
We have a link where you can RSVP to let us know if you are coming (just to help give us a rough head-count). Also, we will be able to send you more detailed and specific instructions. This will also help us let you know if there are any last minute details re: the hearing.
2) BRING OTHERS TO THE HEARING & LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT:
We are also asking that you try to bring as many friends, family and colleagues to the hearing as well. They don't have to be an artist to come, they just have to be a person who cares about protecting artists and creators everywhere. Bring as many people with you as you can!

3) GIVE A PUBLIC COMMENT AT THE HEARING:
There will be a portion of the hearing that is dedicated to comments from the public. This is our chance to let CA legislators see real people who care about (or who are part of) the powerful creative community that defines our great state, and to let them know how we are all affected. We need to overwhelm the mic with 15 second comments in support of AB-412 (as it is currently written).
