The petition has gotten the attention of a few local media outlets and has now been featured on ABC10 San Diego, Sonoma County Scanner Updates, and Press Democrat. Thank You to Nashelly Chavez of Press Democrat and Melissa Macija of ABC10 for reaching out to talk about this cause. I have begun reaching out to our local leadership to push this to a state level and farther if possible.
To cross the first threshold and be searchable within WhiteHouse.gov, a petition must reach 150 signatures within 30 days. To cross the second threshold and require a response, a petition must reach 100,000 signatureswithin 30 days.
The current initiative signature requirements according to the California Constitution, Article II, Section 8(b); Elections Code section 9035 requires 623,212.
In a state with 39.51 Million, I know we can do this. Share to Facebook, email to your friends and family who support our first responders, and let’s get this done!!!
