Hello everyone!
Thank you again for all of the support we've gotten. Since the last update, we've garnered another 15k signatures, and we really can't thank you enough. If you are unaware, the Yorktown High School administration sent out an email to parents and staff, stating they are working with us to help improve our school environment, however when we met no concrete commitments to any of our plans or programs were made. They have, however, said they would like to meet with us again, and we hope to hear from our school's administrators soon about scheduling a follow up meeting, but, either way, we will continue to push for change in our community. We have also reached out to our school board again in hopes of meeting with them, and while we have still not heard back from our superintendent, we hope to hear from him at some point as well.
This Tuesday, another alleged assault involving an APS student made headlines. Our thoughts and support go out to the victim, and we commend her bravery in taking her story to police. We reiterate, everyone is deserving of support and safety, and we encourage anyone who is struggling to seek help. You are not alone, and there are resources available for you:
