Demand That Arizona Animal Sanctuary Board Members Reveal Location of LaToya Poe Monkey
The Issue
We ask that, after four court hearings which determined the legal owner of a capuchin monkey named LaToya is Bonnie Poe (and has been consecutively for 14 years). We petition the board members of Arizona Animal Sanctuary to reveal the precise location of said capuchin. This is in accordance with the judgments of both Pima and Pinal Superior Courts in the state of Arizona. Those individuals named as Directors and Officers of the Arizona Animal Sanctuary per the Arizona Corporation Comission website as of January 2, 2016 are compliant and have should have direct knowledge of the possession and chain of command of LaToya since she was temporarily cared for at Arizona Animal Sanctuary in Late 2015.
In October 2015, LaToya came down with a case of Valley Fever. This is a common, yet serious viral illness in the desert southwest. Bonnie, LaToya's owner took her to a veterinarian and after exhausting all available immediate treatment, was offered further medical care at Arizona Animal Sanctuary under the pretense that it was a temporary situation and LaToya would be returned. Arizona Animal Sanctuary's director rescinded on her agreement to return LaToya without notice or a valid reason. She stopped all communication with Bonnie and removed herself from social media before entangling Bonnie in an unnecessary and exasperating legal battle. One year and four court hearings later (ALL of which resulted in favor of Bonnie), Arizona Animal Sanctuary not only refuses to return LaToya, the director has told the court that she 1. Left her in a hotel room in Texas 2. Can not recall to whom she gave LaToya 3. Admitted LaToya is 'in Texas'. We simply require that Arizona Animal Sanctuary adhere to the Judges' orders and reveal LaToya's location so that she may reunited with Bonnie.
We fail to understand why the judgments and determinations of said courts are being blatantly disregarded and this animal has failed to be reunited with her legal owner, Bonnie Poe. We demand that justice prevail and that LaToya's location be revealed to Bonnie Poe.
The monkey community and stewards of all animals will not stand for the continued perpetuation of this crime. We insist that the judgment of the courts and according laws be upheld immediately!
