The Echo Park Playground has undergone an amazing transformation. As a result, you will hardly ever find the playground empty. 

Unfortunately, the playground is not currently a safe place for children.

The playground is dangerously close to the lake. Little children will often run into the adjacent grass and straight towards the lake. Parents are constantly running behind their children to prevent them from falling into the lake. It only takes 10 seconds for a parent to lose sight of their child for this to happen. This is something that we can and should prevent, immediately. 

Many dogs have recently been entering the playground, which also creates a safety hazard. The dogs will run into the playground from the neighboring walking path and jump onto the children. This is especially dangerous for toddlers, who are easily knocked down.

SOLUTION:

A fence is a cost-effective measure that can prevent a tragedy and allow children and dogs to co-exist safely within the Echo Park Playground. It will also allow parents the peace of mind necessary to allow their children freedom of play.

 A fence around the playground will also benefit the park. It will prevent the surrounding grass from being worn away by directing people toward designated entrances/exits, which will lower upkeep costs. 

A fence is a necessary addition to our wonderful new park to ensure the safety of all of our children, the beauty of our park, and the enjoyment for all.
