Dear Signers-- First, thank you all for heeding the call yesterday and giving this petition one last push before the vote. We added an additional 25k+ signatures in the last 24 hours--incredible! I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Frank Escalona, who contacted me just over a week ago about this petition because he was inspired by the support. Leveraging his contacts, Frank worked tirelessly over the past 36 hours to get this petition printed out and delivered not only to Senator Cantwell's office (who has been leading the charge against drilling), but also to other senators who are currently "on the fence." As you can see from the picture, Frank delivered these petitions with his daughters this afternoon, and he received word that the petition will be distributed to other senators as a memo later today. Working on an abbreviated timeline, Frank's efforts were critical to making sure that this petition got in front of the right people--giving it the best chance possible to have real influence.
