First it was Sodexo and now, after 10 short days and the action of thousands of people like you, Aramark is committing to a new animal welfare policy which will affect millions of animals for years to come—a total phase-out of eggs from battery cages.
In particular, this means that 1.5 million hens a year will now be spared from a life in battery cages—770,000 hens from Aramark and 750,000 hens from Sodexo. This victory is yet another huge blow to battery cages and continues the pressure on the industry to make significant changes!
Once again, you joined our campaign and made history. You donated and took action. YOU SPOKE UP FOR NEARLY A MILLION HENS CONFINED IN CRUEL BATTERY CAGES...
AND IT WORKED!
It's really true that the end of battery cages could be sooner than we ever thought. These historic victories that will spare countless animals from the worst factory farm abuses are only possible because of you.
There's more! Aramark will also be announcing an update to its animal welfare policy which will affect the treatment of pigs, birds raised for meat, calves, and dairy cattle. Stay tuned.
Let's celebrate this monumental victory while remembering that there is so much more work to be done on behalf of animals. Please make a donation today to keep the momentum going!
