It is with mixed emotions that I am writing to announce that this is my final update. After posting this update I will close the petition. I was hoping to end it by declaring victory. Unfortunately, overwhelming opposition from city officials in Layton compelled UAOVF officials to consider other sites for the Agent Orange Memorial.
City officials from one of those sites, Sunset, have given the UAOVF approval to locate the memorial in a park there. If things go as planned, it will be dedicated on Veterans Day 2025. UAOVF officials are keen about the arrangement and I am too.
