Big News Everyone!
As of this morning, Apple has officially pulled After School from the App Store!
This is an amazing moment and such an important step toward ending cyberbullying once and for all -- and it would not have been possible without all of you!
Thank you all so much for your support, it is so inspiring.
This victory is a great first step, but there is still more to be done to end bullying on anonymous messaging apps.
Apple and Google need to make changes to the app review guidelines that put in place stronger safeguards against apps like these.
With the help of Elizabeth Long, a teenager from Atlanta who received death threats on another anonymous app called Yik Yak, I have started a new campaign asking Apple and Google to change their terms of service, and require stricter safety and anti-bullying standards for anonymous messaging apps. Please click here to sign and share the petition: https://www.change.org/p/google-inc-help-stop-anonymous-apps-like-yik-yak-after-school-and-slam-high-by-changing-apple-and-google-s-app-rules
You can also join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #EndYikYakBullying
And click here to tweet directly at Apple and Google, asking them to take a stand against cyberbullying: http://ctt.ec/f4lpa
Once again, thank you all so much for your support. Together I know we can end cyberbullying once and for all!
Thank you,
Juliana
