The issue of caste-based reservations in Indian higher education has sadly devolved into a playground for political maneuvering, where meritocracy takes a backseat to quotas. While intended to rectify historical injustices, the system now perpetuates division and dilutes academic standards.

In this realm, intellect and talent seem overshadowed by caste affiliations, as reserved seats are readily available regardless of qualifications. The rhetoric surrounding "reserved versus unreserved" feels more like a theatrical production than a sincere effort to address societal disparities.

Even more disheartening is the spectacle of communities within reserved categories being pitted against each other, further fracturing social cohesion.

Amidst this drama, it's crucial not to lose sight of the true losers: the integrity of the education system and the nation's future.

As we navigate this complex landscape, it's imperative to maintain a discerning eye and demand genuine solutions rather than political posturing. After all, education should uplift minds, not serve as a stage for political theatrics.

That is why, in a new and developing India, where our goal is to become Viksit Bharat, this is a hurdle that we need to overcome and for that, we need to join our hands and take a stand against this weakness that pulls down the development of our nation.
