Facebook Page and Silly Video

Hello everyone! The response to this petition has been phenomenal! I am so heartened to see that the lives and wellbeing of these dogs means so much to so many. With your help and support, we’ve almost made it to 150,000 supports! Such numbers cannot go unnoticed by Alaska lawmakers and race administrators any longer. The more the word gets out about the truth of “The last frontier” and their treatment of “man’s best friend” the less profitable the abuse will be. A change will have to happen. To help get the word out, I have made silly little video called “It’s ok, it’s a sled dog”, intimating all the abuse that one can get away with by simply claiming an animal is part of a mushing practice. I have been hesitant to post it due to the very “adult” nature of sexual misconduct with an animal described in some of the surrounding paragraphs. Though it is important (and disheartening) to note that the exemption (AS 11.61.140(e)) encompasses these sexual practices as well; i.e. bestiality is technically legally permitted for competition sled dogs. I also briefly addressed that matter in the new video above (in a comical way of course). So read at your own discretion. The specific exemption reads “(e) This section does not apply to generally accepted dog mushing or pulling contests or practices or rodeos or stock contests.” The ‘section’ referred to is 11.61.140 (subsections a – h), meaning all laws therein do not apply to mushing contests, mushing practices or rodeos.
