For those who have not seen the original Emergency Powers Legislation of 2020 the link is below for you to view. The Initial amendments were tabled June Last year and passed in Oct 2021.
This further extension from 30th April until Oct 2022 will be the extensions of Emergency Powers to continue to create CHO Health Directives and enact them allowing parliamentary committees to undertake their work without interference.

Stephen has just returned from Brisbane where he attended Committee Hearings, the Parliamentary sitting including asking Questions on Notice and without Notice regarding the emergency powers, a speech on Health and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2021, voted against an amended motion by the government amended the motion so that it no longer called for the release of documents, and instead noted the “convention and standing orders” of allowing parliamentary committees to undertake their work without interference.
Stephen has been very active and outspoken in advocating for the protection of people’s freedoms. His acute awareness of the assault on democratic rights can be seen in most of his comments, including those published across his social media platforms. As a Member of the Health Committee Member, Stephen has addressed his concerns regarding the mandates numerous and frequently at Parliament placing on the record for Public Scrutiny and evaluation during this time of COVID-19 emergency powers and the limited choice in which people have concerning the vaccines and personal health choices that surround these limited options. Stephen was the only person out of 93 Members who wrote against it when it first was invoked… nothing has changed.
Stephen is fighting the situation from multiple fronts, doing the utmost in serving his community and beyond. He is working around the clock to find solutions to the circumstances we are all facing.
