This morning, the Health Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing about proposals to achieve universal health coverage for the country.

Members of Congress and panelists discussed 9 bills, and several components of health care were mentioned - medical, dental, nursing, vision, and long term care. Midwifery care isn't on that list, yet.

We've sent this petition to Chairwoman Anna Eshoo's (D-CA) office, and now we need to follow up and show her how many Americans want midwives involved in designing new healthcare policies.
