Update on California sheepherders' overtime pay

Dear friends,

Thank you to all who signed the petition urging California State Senators Melissa Hurtado and Ana Caballero to discontinue their campaign to prevent sheepherders from stating to receive overtime pay starting January 1, 2022.

In a recent meeting with Sen. Hurtado she informed us that she is no longer pursuing the sheepherder exemption from overtime pay for farm workers.  

We are not yet declaring victory.  Only after sheepherders start receiving the overtime pay will we do that.  We will keep you informed.  Thank you again for your support.
