Dog Meat In Vietnam

World Animal Rescue
Jan 31, 2018
Every year, 5 million dogs are consumed in Vietnam. Just like in Korea and China the dogs are seen as nothing more than a commodity. The dogs are seen as food and livestock instead of man's best friend. In Vietnam, the dogs are sold based on weight. So farmers force feed dogs by shoving rice dog their throats. When that is not enough, food is pumped directly into the stomach of the poor animals. All in the name of fattening up the animal. The process of how a chief describes cooking a dog is nothing short of horrific. First, you slit the throat quickly and let it bleed out, then boil some water after that remove the head, knuckles, and internal organ. Next, the meat is cleaned. Cut the limbs off and skin the animal. Lemon, wine, garlic, chili, galangal, lemongrass and la mo chop finely and mix it with the blood of the dog. Stuff everything into the guts, chop it into pieces and boil it for around five minutes. In Vietnam cooking, a dog is treated the same as cooking a chicken. It is a sick and cruel practice that needs to end. Vietnam is another name on a long list of countries that eat dogs. Please sign and share, with your help, we can end the sale of dog meat in all of these countries.
