I started this petition a year ago in an attempt to have the federal Humane Slaughter Act amended to actually make it humane. Many atrocities exist in the Slaughter process, but especially for the larger animals such as cows. The stunning process (which involves a cattle prod) does not work, and is therefore inhumane. An amendment to this federal act is needed now in order to prevent the suffering of these animals. Please sign and support this cause, because this is not an anti meat or anti slaughter petition, but this is my attempt to make the federal government make slaughterhouses follow a completely painless process by rendering the animal unconscious by using sedative’s and general anesthesia prior to cutting on these poor animals.
