AWIP has carried out the first raid targeting the Philippines' small but growing cat meat trade, uncovering a horrifying scene at a slaughterhouse in Ilocos Norte where a cat had been killed by hanging and was being prepared to be skinned.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested, and we are calling for him to receive the maximum penalty permitted by law if found guilty.
