Friend,
A dog was beaten in the head and blowtorched at an illegal roadside slaughterhouse in the Philippines.
Investigators believe this slaughterhouse was killing at least two to three dogs every single day, meaning hundreds, potentially over a thousand, dogs may have been killed here over time.
Dogs were dragged into the slaughter area with no escape.
Their heads were smashed. Their bodies were burned with blowtorches for meat while the slaughterhouse continued operating in public view.
This was organised, deliberate, and profitable.
A joint AWIP and police operation led to the arrest of one dog trader connected to the slaughterhouse.
Criminal charges for animal cruelty are now expected to follow.
But this cannot end with a minor consequence.
If penalties remain weak, operations like this may continue killing dogs behind closed doors while traffickers simply move to new locations.
And we already know another dog slaughterhouse is operating.
Every signature helps increase pressure for maximum penalties against those responsible and stronger enforcement against the illegal dog meat trade before more dogs are killed.
Dogs trapped in places like this have nobody to protect them unless people choose to act.
