Friend,
If you’ve been with us since back in October, you might remember Blair.
She’s the very old dog we found stuffed inside a canvas sack — tied up, shaking, completely silent. Her body’s frail. Our vets say she’s around 15 years old, with all the health issues that come with that.
She should’ve been curled up somewhere safe, sleeping peacefully.
But instead… she was minutes away from being slaughtered so someone could eat her.
We only found her — along with two others — because someone tipped us off. And thank god they did. We got there just in time, Friend.
Today, the man who was going to kill her stood in court. No remorse. No apology. Just waiting to see what sentence he’ll get.
The hearing’s been adjourned now, and we’ll return for the final verdict in May.
I gave my evidence today — looked him in the eye and told the court exactly what I found. And just like I was there today, I’ll be there again in May. I won’t stop until I see him in jail.
But between now and then, we need to show the court that this matters to people. Everywhere.
Will you sign now if you agree that this man should face the maximum penalty, Friend?
Jacob, our Executive Director, has given us a clear mandate: track down every last dog meat trader operating in the Philippines and bring them to justice. This case is just the beginning.
Every name will be printed and delivered to court when we return in May. We want them to see that Blair mattered and that cruelty like this doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thanks for standing with us,
– Greg
AWIP Regional Investigator (Philippines)
P.S. I’ve seen what happens when no one shows up. Thank you for helping me make sure Blair is not forgotten, Friend. Add your name now.
