Yesterday, my team and I, working alongside the Philippine National Police, took down a dog meat trader. Right now, he’s in a jail cell. But unless we take the next step, there’s no guarantee he’ll stay there.
This man was butchering dogs every single day—selling their meat to local patrons and even reserving their heads for a so-called “specialist delicacy” dog head soup. He profited from suffering. If we don’t act now, he could walk free and do it all over again.
Too many times, these traders walk free with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. That cannot happen here. We need to make sure he faces the maximum penalty.
