Friend,
Dog fighting in Albania is a significant issue. The cruel activity, which is highly abusive, often results in severe injuries or death for the animals involved.
Dogs used in these fights typically suffer from wounds, broken bones, and infections, and many die from their injuries or are killed if they lose fights. It is estimated that over 16,000 dogs are dying every year from the cruel activity. Over 40,000 individuals are suspected of being involved in dog fighting.
Dog fighting in Albania has not been explicitly banned as a distinct crime. This lack of a specific, outright ban on dog fighting can contribute to the difficulties in enforcement and the persistence of the activity.
