At Animal Welfare Investigations Project, our mission is to investigate animal cruelty and rescue animals globally. Today, we need your voice to help us get justice for abused animals.
On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at approximately 8:00 pm, The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) executed a search warrant at 13020 Williams Avenue in Axis, Alabama. They received information about possible dog fighting at the address.
The scene they discovered was horrific, Friend. MCSO Deputies arrested 29 people, rescued 32 dogs, and seized 11 guns, drugs, and a large amount of USD currency.
When the Sheriff's Office disassembled the pen where the dogs were fighting, they found it covered in blood. There were obvious graves of dogs in the backyard. Many of the rescued dogs had healing scars and wounds. Tragically, one dog, who was fighting that day, is unlikely to survive. The main suspect, believed to have set up the dog fighting ring, fled the scene and is still at large.
Dog fighting is a heinous crime that has seen an increase globally. Law enforcement efforts are proactive but are struggling to keep up. This is why we need your help, Friend.
