Friend,
Dog fighting is a cruel reality, claiming the lives of over 16,000 dogs each year. Despite being illegal, it's deeply entrenched and linked with other criminal activities, making it hard to eradicate.
We're calling for stronger action: better law enforcement, stricter penalties, and a dedicated EU taskforce to fight dog fighting. Without stronger action, dog fighting will continue to take place across the EU.
Sign the petition to ask the EU to enforce dog fighting laws, Friend.
In the grim world of dog fighting, dogs are not just forced to fight; they are bred and trained under conditions that exploit their natural instincts for aggression, turning them into fighters. These dogs are chosen for their ability to attack and are often subjected to harsh training regimes to enhance their fighting capabilities. The fights are brutal, designed to cause maximum pain and injury, with dogs attacking each other fiercely, often resulting in severe wounds to vital areas such as the head, ears, front legs, and chest.
The aftermath of these fights is as horrific as the events themselves. Dogs emerge with a range of injuries, some fresh and bleeding, others scarred over from past battles. The care, if it can be called that, administered to these injured animals is barbaric. Rather than receiving proper veterinary treatment, dogs are subjected to crude, painful procedures without any form of pain relief, using staple guns or super glue to close gaping wounds.
We must stand together to put an end to the cruelty of dog fighting across Europe. Your signature on our petition can drive change and demand justice for the innocent lives at stake, Friend. Help us eradicate dog fighting in Europe once and for all.
For all animals,
Team AWIP
P.S. We are urging the EU Parliament to insist that all EU member states rigorously enforce laws against dog fighting. Join the fight against dog fighting by adding your name, Friend.
