Six individuals have been arrested following a distressing discovery at a residence. Over a dozen animals, living in deplorable conditions, were seized, while others tragically lost their lives due to severe neglect.
The incident began in April 2023, when a puppy sold from this home was diagnosed with the deadly parvovirus. Despite warnings from Forsyth County Animal Services to seek treatment for their animals and halt further sales, these individuals blatantly disregarded these warnings. Their continued negligence led to the euthanasia of three more puppies due to the same illness, with a fourth being rescued and treated by a vet surgeon.
In a subsequent visit in January of this year, the grim sight of a deceased dog on the property's porch prompted immediate action, revealing conditions inside the home that were nothing short of horrifying. Amidst extreme filth, twelve dogs and two bearded dragons were found crated, without access to water, and were promptly rescued.
Shockingly, this intervention did not halt the cycle of cruelty, as two residents soon after bought more animals via social media, leading to further seizures and arrests. The charges laid out are as severe as the crimes, with Emily Wilgus and Sheyann Edwards facing significant felony charges, potentially leading to five years in jail and fines up to $15,000.
