Hi Friend,
Every day, we're reminded that we're not alone in this fight, and it's all because of you. You are an integral part of Team AWIP, and without you, the vital work we do would simply not be possible.
However, as much as we would love to share only good news, the situation on the ground in Israel-Gaza continues to evolve in alarming ways. The most recent events have left us all stunned.
Early Saturday morning, video footage captured two armed Hamas militants approaching a residential area. Their attire and weapons were clear indications of their intent. These two are believed to be part of a larger group of about 1,000 militants who crossed into Israel.
The terror they brought with them was palpable, with many civilians taken hostage and others tragically shot. Among the heart-wrenching scenes was the sight of a brave dog, trying its best to protect a home, being cruelly taken down by these militants.
Our colleagues, the frontline rescuers, are facing unprecedented challenges. The situations our rescuers encounter are becoming increasingly dangerous, making their mission to aid the innocent animals even harder. But we know, with your unwavering support, we can get through this.
Could you take a moment to let our colleagues know they're not alone in this battle, Friend?
The heart-wrenching reality is that animals, both domesticated and wild, face indiscriminate violence during these conflicts. Scenes of beloved pets being shot point-blank or herds of wildlife fleeing burning habitats are all too common.
As homes and habitats are razed, animals are left disoriented, injured, and traumatised, robbed of their sanctuaries. The magnitude of their suffering underscores the need for collective action and awareness to protect these voiceless victims from the devastation of human-made conflicts.
The aftermath of these conflicts presents a bleak picture. Animals that have miraculously survived the initial onslaught, often after witnessing their families being killed, are left to roam the streets, sometimes injured, and dying.
In times like these, a simple message of encouragement to our frontline rescuers can go a long way. Please send a message of support to our dedicated team on the ground. Your words can uplift their spirits and give them the strength to continue their crucial work, even in the face of adversity.
Remember, we're all in this together. Every gesture, every word of support, every donation makes a world of difference. Please stand with us, with Team AWIP, as we navigate these challenging times.
For all animals,
Team AWIP
P.S. We're hearing shocking reports of dogs being shot dead by Hamas gunmen. Send a message of support to our colleagues to keep them going!
