Union-Busting Union Boss Re-Writes Bylaws to Protect Herself from Impeachment

At OPEIU Local 30's 04-24-24 General Membership meeting, proposed changes to the union's bylaws were read.  Hidden in the middle of these mostly insignificant changes is new language that will protect her from impeachment.  It will require that at least 25% of the union's membership sign a petition to ask that the Executive Board consider impeachment proceedings.  This new 25% threshold that is about 400% of the entire membership participation during union officer elections which will practically ensure that Marianne could never impeached.  This union was established February 1st, 1945 and has never had bylaws this extensive that insulate the union administration from being held accountable.  It begs the question, 'so why now?'  The answer is clear.
