AGL & TRANSPACIFIC SENDING CSG WASTEWATER TO SECRET LOCATION INTO SEWER & LANDF

May 4, 2016
On the 2nd of March community members took action to stop AGLs waste water which is being taken from Spring Farm by Transpacific to Homebush. Transpacific is treating the toxic waste water at their facility in Homebush only with a filtration system. Coal Seam Gas waste water requires reverse osmosis to get rid of all the Volatile Organic compounds and Heavy metals. Coal Seam Gas waste water also contains radioactive elements which reverse osmosis can not completely eliminate. Obviously Transpacifics filtration system is not capable of completely cleaning AGLs waste water. Transpacific are then releasing the "cleaned" end product into our sewer systems. They are sending the end product sludge to landfill. The community have been emailing Transpacific and AGL back and forth for the past two months and keep getting the generic answer that AGLs waste water is just like a salt water pool. AGL and Transpacific refuse to tell the community which sewer system they are flushing the waste water down, which ultimately ends up somewhere in our waterways. They refuse to tell the community which landfill they are sending the sludge to. This is alarming as the sludge is what contains the radioactive elements. There is concern that in 30 years time that landfill will be filled in and homes built over the top leaving another toxic legacy for more unsuspecting families in the future.
