Wildlife/Pedestrian Bridge Over Palisades Parkway In Harriman State Park

The Issue

The Appalachian Trail crosses 4 lanes of busy traffic known as The Palisades Parkway in Harriman State Park in New York State. Increased traffic on the parkway makes this crossing very difficult at certain times of the day. Our goal is to build a pedestrian/wildlife bridge that would separate hiker and wildlife/cars from each other. Most drivers have no idea that a trail crosses there. Not only would this benefit the Thru-Hikers of the AT, it would help day hikers as well as wildlife and drivers avoiding said wildlife. We meed YOUR help!
