On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Ronald Mann, age 32 from Bronx, NY, a fugitive from justice. Mann was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and an active NYS Parole Warrant. The Rockland Sheriff’s Office detectives working in partnership with the Rockland County Intelligence Center and NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Office of Special Investigations (NYSDOCCS-OSI) obtained credible information regarding the fugitive and his whereabouts, according to authorities. Mann is currently on Parole and a self-admitted Bloods gang member, added officials. He had been on the run since February when he removed his electronic monitoring device, telling his parole officer “catch me if you can”, said authorities. Mann was involved in vehicle pursuit in Westchester County after being pulled over by the NYS Police for a traffic violation less than 24 hours earlier. He abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot leading to an organized search involving various law enforcement agencies resulting in negative results. There may be additional charges pending from this incident. Mann was the front seat passenger in a vehicle when they were stopped on Midland Avenue and Haven Court in the Village of Nyack. Mann was taken into custody without incident and the operator was released at the scene with no charges. Mann was transported the Rockland Sheriff’s Office and processed for the above charges. He was turned over to investigators from NYSDOCCS-OSI and lodged in the Rockland County Jail without bail, pending a later court date.
