Authorities were investigating Friday after a Temple parole officer disappeared following a walk-through at the home of a man on parole for aggravated robbery, a source with knowledge of the investigation said. The parolee has also disappeared. “Both are missing, but we do not believe they are related,” Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Jason Clark said. Clark said a parole warrant has been issued for the missing parolee, whom he identified as Juan Macias, 45. Sources with knowledge of the case say Macias is also wanted in connection with a murder investigation. The parole officer’s wife reported her husband missing either late Thursday night or Friday morning, the source said. The parole officer was accompanied by someone when he did the walk-through of the parolee's apartment Thursday, the source said, but it’s not clear whom. A Temple Police Department spokeswoman did not immediately return a call for information Friday. Chief Deputy said the Bell County Sheriff’s Department was not involved in the case.
