Since 1935, Meadowbrook Hospital, now known as Nassau University Medical Center has been serving many communities and saving lives.  Historically, minorities and low income individuals have faced greater barriers to accessing healthcare.  "Racial residential segregation is a fundamental cause of health disparities across Nassau County."  The dismantlement of NUMC would mean diminishment of services to our disadvantaged population.
