I am sick, and I'm sure I'm not alone, of hearing fireworks mid October, carrying on until mid December then again at Christmas/new year. I am sick and tired and stressed at having to comfort my terrified pets while unsupervised kids let off these horrible things in peoples yards, fields etc, we have an ageing border collie who has recently started having problems mentally and, combined with fireworks, is the last thing he needs, and the last thing we need come to that. I want the government to ban the sale of fireworks to the general public and allow sales only to organised displays. These displays would then attract more people to them and make more money for good causes, such as the round table etc to help local causes. We would also then have an idea of when we need to sedate our pets instead of the 4 weeks+ it now lasts. I have never tried to start a petition and don't know much about it, but would appreciate your help, signature and sharing of this to get it discussed. Pets are frightened out of their wits every year needlessly and it's time this issue was discussed at a higher level. Please take the time to share this petition and share it.
