This is what surgery from a Kirpan stab wound looks like. This was my son in hospital. He lost 12 kg in 12 days. He could not eat for six days and was fed via a food bag for four days before starting to eat solids again. Why? Because a Kirpan cut his liver and kidney and perforated his small intestine, He was cut from his stomach to chest to repair the damage during surgery with 33 staples holding his wound together. Things could have been very different if the blade had been 2mm to the right. Yet Sikhs want Kirpans in NSW schools because they have been modified, and it is their religious right. Sorry, what about our Civil Rights as Australians, parents, teachers and students? Knife crime and intimidation with Kirpans is increasing in many states, such as Victoria, where Kirpans are being used to threaten young people from different religious backgrounds. Kirpans should not be in schools - there is no place for any weapon in our school. Please share, share and share this, we deserve to be heard, don't let the Sikh community railroad NSW Education again.
