Hi Cash Lovers,

Australia's cash system is in crisis with the dominant cash company - Armaguard - telling banks it needs immediate and ongoing financial support to continue operating.

Armaguard delivers 90% of all cash in Australia.

This crisis can't be left to the banks to solve, they have been actively herding us away from cash.

I've applied for permission to create a parliamentary petition to the House of Representatives and I'll share that next week if approved.

Meanwhile, the Albanese government currently has three inquiries relating to access to cash. The inquiry into Bank Closures in Regional Australia has been extended and is still accepting submissions.

PLEASE write a quick submission to the bank closures inquiry HERE.

Submissions and letters to politicians don't need to be long, just make your point simply and concisely:

1) Our towns and suburbs need access to cash

2) Food and groceries must be able to be paid for with cash.

And here is another parliamentary petition (not from Cash Welcome) calling for cash acceptance to be mandatory for all retailers.
