During a televised interview in 2018 Lord David Steel stated that allegations of sexual abuse of children by former mp, Cyril Smith, was “scurrilous hear-say”. He slammed the allegations and tried to shame them for attacking the dead. Steel said this at a time when victims found the courage to step forwards and speak to their horrible experiences. 

The crown prosecution service accepted many times that they should have prosecuted Cyril Smith. Yet Lord Steel backed his friend whilst slamming the victims.

Now this week this “Lord”, has admitted whilst giving evidence to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), that Cyril Smith infact admitted to him that the sickening allegations were indeed true. Cyril admitted he had sexually abused kids! 

Steel has now admitted to covering these sickening crimes up. This allowed Cyril Smith to abuse more innocent victims.

Steel even successfuly nominated Cyril Smith for a knighthood after the confession. 

If that is not bad enough, consider his most recent comments to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), that if he could go back in time and change his decision, he wouldn’t! He would still choose to protect this paedophile.

He needs to be prosecuted and stripped of his life peerage and titles!
