WITH UNITY WE WILL SEE THIS CHANGE HAPPEN!

Two weeks ago we met with the Attorney General Hon. Kyam Maher MLC and started a
conversation around what our proposal for law reform is. This week we received a
response from Kyam confirming our proposal for law reform around duty of care and the
obligation to call emergency services.
Kyam also reflected on the gravity that this loss has had upon myself and Bryan and all
who loved Amy. He appreciated the courage and strength we have shown to keep pushing
forward for Amy and that the reason for our advocacy comes from “profound grief”. I agree
that our push has come about because of profound grief, but our continue to push comes
from profound injustice and our desire to have this person held accountable for his life
shattering decisions.
The Attorney General said he is looking at our proposal for law reform. He will be advising
about the current legal framework and assessing whether there is room for reform of
current legislation or need for new laws to create the change that is needed.
Kyam also acknowledged that this process could take some time, but that he would keep
us informed with updates.
While I appreciate nothing happens quickly I have rallied to the other parties for support
around this. Our fight for Justice4Amy will not end until we see this become law. Strength
and courage for Amy.
