THANK YOU TO ALL 6,680 SUPPORTERS, BUT DON’T STOP NOW: keep sharing the petition We appreciate the support of AIDS and Rights Alliance for Southern Africa (ARASA), Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, Transgender Europe, Asia Catalyst, Asociacion de Mujeres Meretrices De Argentina, International Treatment Preparedness Coalition Latin America and Caribbean, CREA India, Feministinen Aloite Feminist Initiative – Finland, AFRO-BENIN Association, Asia Pacific Transgender Network and many other organisations in calling on Amnesty’s International Council to stand firm and support the decriminalisation of sex work. We will send a first draft of the petition to Amnesty International on Thursday 6 August 2015 at 12noon UCT. The petition will close on Monday 10 August 2015 at 18.00 and will be forwarded to Amnesty International prior to the vote on the resolution on Tuesday 11 August 2015. We continue to hope that the International Council will listen to the voices of female, male and transgender sex workers from around the world, supported by human rights defenders, feminists, academics, health care providers and the general public in our call for the protection of sex workers’ human rights.
