Thank you to everyone who has worked to move this forward - both in the community and within the city of Oshawa government, staff and elected officials.  The process is almost complete with the implementation steps being worked out now. 

The key bylaw updates include
· One-time no fee registration for cat and dog rescue groups operating in the City of Oshawa.  
· Exemption to pet licensing standards for “rescue animals” being kept for less than one year by a foster/registered rescue group.
· One year complimentary pet licence for pets adopted from Oshawa Animal Services and registered rescue groups to encourage pet adoption.
· Establishing an exemption process for fosters wishing to keep a number of cats and/or dogs that is greater than the current limit (3 dogs and 6 cats).
