Sign this position to ask the American Alliance of Museums to require job ads posted on its website to include salary information.  Other museum organizations require salary information in job posts, including Museum.Jobs, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums, and the American Association for State and Local History.  It's time for AAM to join this group.

Requiring employers to publish salary information will promote diversity and inclusion in the museum field because it reduces the pay gap that exists based on gender and for people of color. 

It's also a more sensible practice for everyone.  It helps employers find candidates more quickly, it allows job seekers to be more selective in the positions they apply for, and it allows AAM to better serve its members--museums and individual professionals.
