I am the mother of 4-year-old Ivy Bella Roze whose innocent life was cut short when she drowned on December 17th in Morwell Victoria after gaining access to the neighbour's pool. After she somehow removed a pailing from the pine boundary fence that was decades old (all in less than 4 minutes) I have lived in this property since beginning of march 2024 so not even 9 months before the accident I have started a petition to ammend Victoria's pool fencing laws ending the use of boundary fencing for safety barriers and also i am asking that safety inspectors be held accountable in cases of non compliance marked as compliant this is relevant as the boundary fence in question was issued a certificate of compliance in Feb 2024. I am  hoping to gain your support. I have had a meeting with an MP last week were we discussed supporting the petition which was successful however they will be seeking support from another MP to assure its discussion in the upper house as long as we get the signitures from victorian residents. I am asking for your support also as I am having trouble getting the petition out there. KIDSAFE is also looking into the current laws and if they can support the petition. At the meeting last week I was informed that we may very well need to drop the defibrillators from ivys law petition and I understand that this will likely happen in the near future. I accept this and intend to raise money to fund as many as i can to at risk families and depending on the success of Ivys Foundation it would be amazing to fund defibrillators for all victorian pools. I have reached out to other organisations for their support with Ivy's Law please share this petition and if you haven't signed i would ask why?
