I'm being told now that there was a way I could have possibly filed a pfa. Although when I needed it and with everyone I spoke to I was told I couldn't. I'm not going to dispute who's right or who's wrong and whether or not I could have filed. The point of this petition is to simplify something that is to complicated for the regular person to understand. So I still believe a change needs made to simplify this law so that an immediate pfa can be filed on behalf of an incapacitated person. The pfa should also include any children or adults who need protection. These emergency pfa's should be able to be filed by anyone who can document the abuse and the proof that victim is incapacitated.
