Update: Thank you, Anonymous! — you just brought us back to life
I was sitting here at 2:52 AM watching 1,172 sit frozen since last night, watching my promo stuck at 3/91 views, thinking maybe nobody was seeing this anymore.
Then at 6:12 PM today someone anonymous matched my $10.
You didn't have to. You don't even have your name on it. You just saw the update where I asked if anyone could match me, and you did. 1/91 view so far, just starting.
My $10 that had been stuck at 3/91 all morning went to 6/91 / 1 signature this afternoon. That one signature tonight broke the flatline we've been in since 2:52 AM.
We're at 1,172 verified at 12:19 PM + that 1 new promo sig = about 1,173 now. That's +340 since 833 on Sept 28. 78% to 1,500. 327 to go.
18 of you have put in $188 that turned into 302 signatures and 2,242 views. 63% from Facebook, 24% from promotions like yours.
I put HeeHaw on that fence in the photo because I couldn't bring him with me to take it. That donkey plush in that open field is what this is about for me — the 4th Amendment and farmers' rights.
Our fields, our pastures, our barns — they are our homes. They are where we make our living. The open field doctrine says those places have no protection from warrantless entry. That's not right.
If a farmer can't expect privacy in his own pasture where his animals graze, where does the 4th Amendment still apply?
This petition asks Georgia to amend its constitution to close that gap and protect private farmland like it protects our homes.
If you matched me with $10, thank you. If you can't match with money, sharing to Facebook does even more — Facebook is 63% of everything we've got.
We're making up for lost time.
