Plastic-Free Family:

Congratulations as we power towards 500,000 signatures tonight! This is another huge milestone and the momentum keeps picking up steam thanks to you.

Oceana also released the results of its YouGov poll, clearly showing that Amazon customers want plastic-free choices. These statistics are staggering and uplifting as it means our power as consumers is tremendous - we just need to be counted.  

• 85% of Amazon customers surveyed in the United States are concerned about plastic pollution and its impact on the oceans and the environment
• 92% of those surveyed are upset, disappointed, angry, and or surprised that only 9% of plastic ever produced has been recycled
• 73% of Amazon Prime members would use a plastic-free choice of packaging at checkout if offered

These findings reinforce our belief that people want to do what is best for the environment but they need accessible choices to do so at scale, especially during COVID. It's going to be up to citizens like us to push for this and ask for change where we want it.
