Shrek has always been a beloved figure for both adults and children around the globe. Since its debut in 2001, the Shrek franchise has won an Oscar and been nominated multiple times for its innovative animation and compelling storylines (source: Academy Awards Database). However, the proposed animation style for the forthcoming Shrek 5 is causing concern amongst its loyal fan base. Fans appreciate the original 3D animation style that has been consistent with the previous four movies. We believe that any drastic changes to the visual aesthetics of these iconic characters may detract from the heartfelt story the Shrek series has consistently offered. In this petition, we are asking Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation to reconsider the proposed changes and stick to the original animation style of Shrek for the fifth installment.
