As an avid Surron rider in San Luis Obispo, I am deeply invested in this cause because of my personal love for riding. Like many in our community, I ride not to cause trouble or disturbance but to enjoy the empowering freedom and adrenaline that riding brings. Yet, our joy is dimmed by the constant threat of being chased and seeing our Surrons impounded.

Surron bikes are known for their environmentally friendly nature, producing zero emissions—making them perfectly suited to eco-conscious cities like ours. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, cars emit 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually—Surron bikes emit none.

The impounding not only clamps down on the very essence of riding, but it also raises serious concerns about our right to ride in the city we love. Such actions lift an undue burden of fear and insecurity on us riders. Therefore, we need our voices heard so that city authorities understand the impact of their actions on the riding community.
