In an era of contentious debate, divisive rhetoric, and polar opinions, it is often seen that disagreements with laws and municipal practices are propelled into the sphere of confrontation. That is NOT our goal at all! We want to work together with local elected officials, scientists, legal experts, hobbyists, and most importantly, local residents! In order to enact meaningful change, many things must be taken into account, such as benchmarking success stories, polling the population of the town, reviewing best practices, and so much more. We are staying in front of this issue by conducting this work on the front end, instead of wasting the time of the City Council by simply presenting an idea with no supporting data. This approach saves time, presents a more complete picture to elected officials, takes the voices of many into account, and better represents the proposed changes. 

So remember, the City of Wilton is simply enforcing the ordinances as they were written decades ago. It is up to us as residents to recognize that these ordinances are malleable and can be reformed to better address a changing world!
