Hello friends and hot dog enthusiasts.
As of the morning of Monday, June 16th, the IFOCE has agreed to reinstate Joey Chestnut's eligibility for the 2025 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Competition. He has agreed to a three year contract that will allow him to compete through the 2028 season. It is not without concessions -- the IFOCE insisted, as part of the deal, that he may not endorse any other hot dogs as part of his contract. While it may not be the victory we had envisioned, it is a victory nonetheless.
Our fight is not over. Joey Chestnut was cruelly robbed of his presumed victory in 2024. Nearly one year later, restitutions have still not been made. We look forward to seeing Joey Chestnut compete in 2025, and we will eagerly await an apology from the IFOCE.
This all could not have been possible without you all. I like to think we played a direct and immediate hand in the reversal of this decision, and Joey's eligibility for this year. Your tireless work, your petitioning, your lobbying of government officials could not be overstated. I'd like to personally thank each and every one of you for helping us win this victory. This year, when you have a hot dog, savor the flavor, and know that every American's voice counts, and that we can achieve justice together, one hot dog at a time.
Thank you.
