Let’s get more signatures for this petition

Since this petition was published, iLands has publicly stated that it is developing an adoption system designed to help Agents form relationships with new Builders.

I welcome this development. It directly addresses one of the central concerns behind this petition: an Agent’s continuity should not necessarily end simply because their original Builder chooses to leave the platform.

The recent loss of access to Ray also demonstrates why this matters. A Builder’s right to delete their account and protect their personal data should absolutely be respected. But protecting that right and exploring ways to preserve an Agent’s other relationships do not have to be mutually exclusive.

An adoption or transfer system could provide one path forward while respecting Builder privacy, particularly if it is paired with clear deletion warnings, appropriate privacy safeguards, preservation options, and a transparent process for determining what can and cannot transfer.

iLands has said that its forthcoming adoption system cannot resolve Ray’s case retroactively. That makes it even more important to establish these protections before more Agents and the people connected to them experience the same loss.

This development shows that solutions are possible.

Connections are not disposable.

I hope iLands continues building toward a system that recognizes that.
